Why should you give a Wedding Favour at your wedding?

Wedding favours have been around for centuries. They started with sugared almonds in Italy. They were given to guests to say thank you for coming to the wedding and as a symbol of good luck. They traditionally have five sugared almonds.  Each delicious almond represents something different. People are always confused to what they are. So let's set things straight from here.  The five things are Health, Wealth, Happiness, Fertility and Longevity. The number of almonds, five, also has a significance.  Five is an odd number and cannot be split, hopefully, like the married couple.

The job of choosing wedding favours is a minefield. Just search for Wedding Favours, and you will see many companies, some of them who won't be around for long. Don't insult your guests or ruin your beautiful tables with horrid favours.

For us, the best wedding favours stay with the tradition of the five pieces of confectionery. Sugared almonds are perfect, but to have a modern take on this, what about chocolate Dragees which appear to be Sugared Almonds, but which are not? Chocolate Dragees look exactly like sugared almonds, to the untrained eye. But with one bite, smooth, decadent chocolate is revealed.  The Favour Gallery for example makes the most amazing sugared almond and chocolate dragee, edible chocolate favours.   They are sure to delight every guest, male or female, adult or child. Italian wedding favours seem to ooze sophistication and quality.

Favour flowers made in Italy are beautiful favours in the shape of flowers encasing the confectionery, the traditional five almonds or chocolates.  They come in many different shapes and forms, modern and vintage and there is something to please all.

Wedding favours please wedding guests. They say "thank you for sharing our special day". You could even add a favour tag to your choice of favours, with a message or just the bride and grooms name and date of the wedding, for a beautiful keepsake of your day, for your guests.

Wedding favours can also have a double use. Why not also use them as table seating name tags? Or you could you favour flowers as a table centre display and at the end of your event, each guest takes a favour. No need for expensive, fresh flowers which are dead in a few days. Extra special favours could be chosen for top table guests to say thank you for their contribution to the wedding. Be it a bridesmaid favour gift or special favour for a bestman. Favours and wedding favours have many uses.

One thing we have noticed at weddings we have been to with favours is the way they get guests talking. Choose something unique and interesting and just watch how your guests start to converse, and that makes your tables look fantastic. They are also an icebreaker.
